Emergency Food Distribution Events
SEE-LA is raising money to buy produce in bulk from independent regional farms in our network of farmers’ markets to provide fresh produce to vulnerable families in Los Angeles, primarily in South LA. Distributions include large drive-through events that serve 1,000+ families and door-to-door distributions at low-income housing facilities. We train volunteers and follow strict hygiene and social distancing protocols.
Drive-Through Distributions
A volunteer shift is typically 4-5 hours. Volunteers set up distribution stations and place produce boxes and bags in car trunks. We’ll provide masks and gloves, breakfast, lunch, and water.
Door-to-Door Distributions
A volunteer shift is typically 3 hours. Volunteers assist in packaging produce and materials and then distribute via contactless delivery door to door. Volunteers will need to bring their own masks and are highly encouraged to bring water and snacks. We’ll provide gloves, hand sanitizer, and strict hygiene and social distancing protocols.
